Exploring the beautiful island of Phu Quoc, Vietnam

Renowned as the ‘Pearl Island’ for its beauty, Phu Quoc has also been recognised as the Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO. Known for its pearls, pepper and white sand beaches, this destination is idyllic for a romantic getaway.

Located in the Gulf of Thailand, the island city of Phu Quoc includes the island proper and 21 smaller islets. With a rich history and heritage, this island has roots for many Cambodian and Vietnamese kingdoms. And even today, you can feel the ambience sipped in its rich culture and cuisine.

You can lounge on the Long Beach, an extended stretch of 20 kilometres of white sand with unbarred views of the sunset. You can escape into the lush greenery and seclusion of the tree-lined beaches like Ganh Dau and Bai Thom further north. The adventurers can hike into the horizon-licking mountain ranges or go on short hikes into the virgin forests with waterfalls, pools and hidden caves.

For a glimpse into everyday life, visit a traditional fishing village like Ham Hinh to eat fresh  seafood at a floating restaurant. Travellers interested in local culture and history will enjoy educational sites like Cay Dua prison and temples like Cao Da.

Perhaps the richest treasures of this island are in its waters. Apart from the renowned pearls, the oceans here also host green turtle, leather back turtles and blue swimming crabs. So, try kayaking or snorkelling to experience a core memory in this island paradise.

Seashells Phu Quoc Hotel & Spa emerges as a gateway to experience all the riches of this island. The hotel’s beach front location offers ready access to lightly toasted sand and picture-perfect water of the island. And the other attractions, shopping, entertainment and nightlife are a few minutes away.

Imagine watching the sunset over this pearl island while sipping on a signature wine with your love. If there is heaven, it definitely would look like this.
